This video is an episode of Andy’s Corner HVAC that discusses when it is time for an HVAC replacement. He discusses all of the common questions he gets from homeowners, such as how do they know it’s time for an HVAC replacement.
Homeowners believe that a technician for HVAC replacement is there to protect the homeowner’s interests.
That is not always the case. The age of your HVAC unit is one indicator as to whether or not the unit needs to be replaced. However, that is not always the best way to determine if the unit needs to be replaced. An 8-year-old system may not be a quality system and needs to be replaced. However, a 30-year-old system may not need to be replaced if it has been cared for properly. You can expect the average life expectancy of your HVAC system to be 15 years. Another good rule of thumb is when you start to put a lot of money into your HVAC system, that means it is time for an HVAC replacement.
